O••may \\i,;1. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII +'6�.' _�imr/I.`- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •, pow:: <br /> ,•,'.•�Tf Of.N'i� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 151 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST <br /> COLLABORATION TO ASSIST WITH PURCHASING ART SUPPLIES AND <br /> MATERIALS FOR STUDENTS AT CHIEFESS KAPIOLANI ELEMENTARY <br /> SCHOOL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> whose mission is to create opportunities for artists, art organizations, and educators to integrate <br /> their collective knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and Hawai`i's <br /> culture; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration has successfully assisted elementary <br /> schools in the Kona area by providing art supplies and materials to its students and would like to <br /> assist elementary schools island-wide; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is requesting funds to assist with <br /> purchasing art supplies and materials such as paint, clay, markers, paper, watercolors, and glue <br /> for students at Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary School in Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth <br /> programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free activities, such as educational art activities for <br /> children; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration to assist with purchasing <br /> art supplies and materials for students at Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary School. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
