COUNTY OF HAWAII -. ,Pt_ �•- STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 153 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF THE BIG ISLAND FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS HILO AFTER- SCHOOL PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island(BGCBI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides income-challenged children throughout Hawai`i Island with daily essential programming and resources; and WHEREAS, one of the programs developed by the BGCBI provides after-school transportation, nutrition, tutoring, and homework support; and WHEREAS, the BGCBI has requested funds to help defray the cost of transportation, nutritious food,tutoring and homework support services for the qualified participants in East Hawai`i; and WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote drug-free and alcohol-free community programs; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island to help defray expenses related to its after-school programs for qualified participants in East Hawai`i, including transportation, nutritious food and tutoring and homework support services. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
