COUNTY OF HAWAII -. ,Pt_ �•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 153 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BOYS & GIRLS <br /> CLUB OF THE BIG ISLAND FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS HILO AFTER- <br /> SCHOOL PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island(BGCBI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that provides income-challenged children throughout Hawai`i Island with daily <br /> essential programming and resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the programs developed by the BGCBI provides after-school <br /> transportation, nutrition, tutoring, and homework support; and <br /> WHEREAS, the BGCBI has requested funds to help defray the cost of transportation, <br /> nutritious food,tutoring and homework support services for the qualified participants in East <br /> Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br /> drug-free and alcohol-free community programs; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island to help defray <br /> expenses related to its after-school programs for qualified participants in East Hawai`i, including <br /> transportation, nutritious food and tutoring and homework support services. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
