No. 222 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:15 a.m. <br /> CouncilChair hair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 222, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 222, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 4, 2019, nominates <br /> Melvin Ventura to the Merit Appeals Board. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Mr. Ventura. Mr. Ventura is <br /> employed by Hawai`i Community Federal Credit Union and is currently serving as the Executive Vice <br /> President. He graduated from Pahoa High School and holds a Bachelor's degree in finance and a <br /> Master's degree in accounting from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa, and is the past Chairman of the <br /> Hawai`i County Tax Board of Review. <br /> Mr. Ventura was present in Kona and expressed his willingness to serve on the Merit Appeals Board. <br /> Council Members and Chair David commented in favor of the appointment.
