WHEREAS, as a donation to the County of Hawaii, Nahelehele would like to plant <br />native Hawaiian plants, install a water irrigation system to connect the proposed community <br />park to County water and pay for water service for approximately 14-18 months for native <br />plant restoration; and <br />WHEREAS, the estimated value of the donation by Nahelehele to the County of <br />Hawaii is $17,500; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation recommends <br />approval of this donation by Nahelehele; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br />council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII,, in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br />Hawaii, accepts the donation of native Hawaiian plants and a water irrigation system and <br />service fees. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this <br />resolution be sent to Nahelehele at P. O. Box 2933, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743. <br />
