JMIV OF 414:: <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII --_� • /.••• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �J•� NT'MO�' <br /> fir!OFH�' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 19± i9 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION FOR ITS KEAU`OHANA FOREST RESERVE <br /> RESTORATION PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Environmental Restoration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> whose purpose is to reintegrate native species into Hawai`i's lowland environment for aesthetic <br /> and historical purposes, as well as to support the control of invasive species that threaten <br /> Hawai`i's native forests and the general lowland environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Environmental Restoration has been actively restoring and <br /> protecting Keau`ohana Forest Reserve in the Puna district,the largest lowland wet forest <br /> remaining in the State of Hawai`i, by propagating native plants, eliminating invasive species, and <br /> educating the general public; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Environmental Restoration is seeking funds to expand its efforts at <br /> Keau`ohana Forest Reserve by procuring necessary field tools and outreach materials to educate <br /> and actively engage the community; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol-free <br /> programs, activities, and events that improve the quality of life on Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i Environmental Restoration for its Keau`ohana <br /> Forest Reserve restoration project. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
