REQUEST: <br /> Requesting a resolution to authorize the Mayor and Public Works to enter into a grant agreement with <br /> Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii (PATH); in order to implement the Bikeshare program for$120,000 from <br /> FHWA. <br /> The department requests to waive Finance Committee meeting and to be placed on the June 19, 2019 <br /> Council meeting agenda to help expedite this project and process the Memo of Understanding (MOU). <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii (PATH) would like to expand the bike share program in Kona from three <br /> stations and 32 bikes to six stations and 59 bikes.This expansion project will benefit an increased portion of <br /> the population offering accessibility to bikes for more efficient transit trips and can replace the need for a <br /> personal vehicle.
