JMZY.Oc M,'y' 1 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �rEOf'N`� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 206 191 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF$1,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION. <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Christine Johnson is donating $1,000 to the Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pilikulaiwi is a multi-day program administered by the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation through its Recreation Division that provides culturally appropriate <br /> activities and service projects to school-age children during the spring and fall intersessions to <br /> demonstrate the importance of malama honua through hands-on work; and <br /> i <br /> WHEREAS, from this donation, $500 will be used to augment and improve the Fall <br /> 2019 Pilikulaiwi intercession program and $500 will be used to augment and improve the Spring <br /> 2020 Pilikulaiwi intersession program; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other <br /> personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section <br /> 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), states that any gifts or <br /> c <br /> donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization <br /> procedures of the Department of Finance,may be accepted by resolution approved by the <br /> Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now,therefore, <br />
