-ttofk` , <br /> 1 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII . �''--'A_,- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +r •..;-:..;:v.-- <br /> ..",:,.o!.!4!..-- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 224 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF BIG <br /> ISLAND DRUG COURT, INC., FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH SERVICES FOR <br /> PARTICIPANTS OF THE VETERANS TREATMENT COURT AND BIG ISLAND <br /> DRUG COURT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Drug Court provides intense supervision of participants <br /> struggling with substance abuse in partnership with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, <br /> Office of the Public Defender, Hawai`i Police Department, Adult Probation Division of the Third <br /> Circuit Court, and the State Department of Public Safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Veterans Treatment Court provides intense supervision of <br /> participants struggling with mental illness, and substance abuse in partnership with the U.S. <br /> Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Office of the Public <br /> Defender, Hawai`i Police Department, Adult Probation Division of the Third Circuit Court, and <br /> the State Department of Public Safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Friends of Big Island Drug Court, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose goal is to secure funds for drug courts in Hawai`i County, including the <br /> planning and implementation of court-related services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Friends of Big Island Drug Court, Inc., is requesting financial assistance <br /> with expenses associated for services for participants of the Veterans Treatment Court and Big <br /> Island Drug Court programs in Hawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports programs and activities that <br /> promote healthy social behavior and positive intervention; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-13(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of Big Island Drug Court, Inc., for services <br /> associated with the Veterans Treatment Court and Big Island Drug Court programs. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
