ttV Oi ht' <br /> \ i <br /> l <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII I* � / # 'STATE OF HAWAII <br /> '...'..??.b.."---- <br /> �T• • <br /> � <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 25i 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BOY SCOUTS OF <br /> AMERICA,ALOHA COUNCIL FOR COMMUNITY SCOUT PROJECTS AND <br /> ACTIVITIES. <br /> WHEREAS, Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council ("Aloha Council"), a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization, prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices over their <br /> lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law; and <br /> WHEREAS, Aloha Council provides scouting to youth on O`ahu, Kauai, Hawai`i Island, <br /> the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana <br /> Islands; and <br /> WHEREAS, Aloha Council prepares youth for life through leadership and growth <br /> programs as well as service projects that support comradery and community service; and <br /> WHEREAS, Aloha Council offers exciting scouting programs designed to inspire, build <br /> character, and instill values that youth need to succeed today; and <br /> WHEREAS, Aloha Council is requesting funds to assist with miscellaneous expenses <br /> associated with conducting numerous community scout projects and activities for this fiscal year <br /> including, but not limited to, craft supplies, educational materials, food, and paper goods for its <br /> spring and summer programs, as well as tools for conservation projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> improve the lives of young people through supervised drug-free and alcohol-free recreational <br /> activities intended to promote growth and learning in a safe environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council for community scout <br /> projects and activities. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
