REQUEST: <br /> This is a request to accept a donation of$1,500 from Ulupono Fund, (Ulupono Initiative), for the purpose of <br /> offsetting travel cost to attend the Rocky Mountain Institute Mobility Innovation Lab Project Accelerator <br /> Workshop, (8/5 - 8/8 2019). Unused funds for this purpose shall be returned to Hawaii Community <br /> Foundation. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED: <br /> The grant goes toward a workshop that seeks to focus on advancing innovative mechanisms advance clean <br /> transportation in the County of Hawaii. Focus areas include- Electrifying Fleets, Innovative Financing and <br /> Business Models, Regulatory Reform and Rate Design, EVs as Distributed Energy Resources. The <br /> workshop consists of teams representing critical project stakeholders and partners. The project in which the <br /> Hawaii Accelerator team seeks to focus on is the implementation of new/innovative procurement <br /> mechanisms to: Support the acquisition of clean transportation for public fleets, 2) Assist in more <br /> economically efficient and simplified procurement practices, and develop innovative procurement <br /> mechanisms for fleets (zero emissions), through 3rd party partnerships. <br /> SIGNED: DATE: 7/3V1L? <br /> Department Head <br />
