No. 406/Res.No. 252-19 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 4:10 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 252-19, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 252-19, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 406 <br /> dated August 1, 2019, authorizes the acceptance of a donation by the Department of Information <br /> Technology to be used towards travel and other expenses to attend the Chief Information Officer <br /> Roundtable and Security Summits. <br /> This resolution accepts a monetary donation of approximately$7,000 from the Center for Technology. <br /> Jules Ung, Information Technology Director, explained the Center for Technology(CFT) is a national <br /> association that brings together private sector and academic leaders creating public policy initiatives that <br /> effectively addresses the technology and innovation needs of the industry. Ms. Ung stated that the <br /> County of Hawaii has been invited to participate in panel discussions with State and municipal <br /> Information Technology(IT)leaders nationwide. Attendance and participation in this event by Hawaii <br /> State Government employees was formally vetted and approved by the Board of Ethics at the State <br /> level.
