7 • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII '''N/_# STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 28i, 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LIONS CLUB OF <br /> KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC., FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES <br /> INCURRED AT THE 37th ANNUAL KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that was created in 2008 to support local communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, each year the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., hosts the <br /> Kupuna Hula Festival celebration that honors and perpetuates the art of Hula through our <br /> treasured Kupuna; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kupuna Hula Festival celebrated its 37th anniversary on September 11 <br /> and 12, 2019, at the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., is requesting <br /> reimbursement of funds to assist with the venue fee, and other miscellaneous expenses related to <br /> the 2019 Kupuna Hula Festival; and <br /> WHEREAS, the annual Kupuna Hula Festival falls within the Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation's Culture and Education program to promote, perpetuate, and encourage activities <br /> and programs in culture, art, history, and humanities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., <br /> for the 37th Annual Kupuna Hula Festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
