MVI OF p,' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII 44 : STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ,.. ..:::_....wirr__.... .: <br /> NT �t Of M .: <br /> �' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 282 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE MUSIC ARRANGEMENTS AND <br /> EQUIPMENT FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY BAND. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Band, composed of approximately 33 part-time <br /> musicians and a full-time director, provides music for special community functions and concerts <br /> for public enjoyment throughout Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Band also performs free monthly concerts at Mo`oheau <br /> Park in downtown Hilo and at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS, founded in 1883, the Hawai`i County Band is the second oldest <br /> professional musical organization in the State of Hawai`i, the oldest being the Royal Hawaiian <br /> Band, which was founded in 1836; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation requests funds to purchase music <br /> arrangements and equipment for the Hawai`i County Band; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to purchase music arrangements and equipment for the Hawai`i County <br /> Band. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
