,itYoih,'• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII i �''��\��/ #� STATE OF HAWAII <br /> g of•i+i•'.' . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 294 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NORTH HAWAII <br /> HOSPICE, INC., FOR ITS MUSIC AND MEMORY PROGRAM AND PATIENT-CARE <br /> VOLUNTEER TRAINING. <br /> WHEREAS,North Hawai`i Hospice, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> provides compassionate and professional care at home, supporting people's wishes to approach <br /> the end of life with a greater sense of empowerment, comfort, and peace; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the programs of North Hawai`i Hospice, Inc., is the Music and <br /> Memory Program, which uses carefully customized music to help memory-impaired patients <br /> remember who they and their family members are, to communicate, and even sing; and <br /> WHEREAS,North Hawai`i Hospice, Inc., also conducts training on end-of-life care and <br /> is working with a guest facilitator to coordinate a weekend training for its patient-care <br /> volunteers; and <br /> WHEREAS,North Hawai`i Hospice, Inc., is requesting funds for iPods and headphones <br /> for its Music and Memory Program, as well as a training facilitator, training materials, <br /> notebooks, and refreshments for its patient-care volunteer training; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Aging supports organizations that provide services for those <br /> in need of end-of-life care; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to <br /> provide a grant to North Hawai`i Hospice, Inc., for its Music and Memory Program and patient- <br /> care volunteer training. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
