-;t1I N�' <br /> OF • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • ••k • �' <br /> ,TE OF NF's <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 295 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAIIAN <br /> PARADISE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH FOR THE NATIONAL NIGHT OUT <br /> EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to promote community partnerships and neighborhood <br /> camaraderie with the goal of creating safer and stronger neighborhoods; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch along with the Hawai`i <br /> County Council and various local organizations and businesses will be organizing the National <br /> Night Out event on October 1, 2019 at the Kea`au High School Play Court; and <br /> WHEREAS,National Night Out facilitates relationship-building between community <br /> members, law enforcement, and first responders to increase neighborhood safety by improving <br /> crime, drug, and disaster preparedness and awareness; and <br /> WHEREAS,National Night Out is a free event with food, live entertainment, <br /> demonstrations, information booths, games, and prizes; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is requesting funds to cover <br /> expenses for a sound stage, live music for three hours, and other incidentals; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports safe and healthy community <br /> activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch for the <br /> National Night Out event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
