'�tY os ,' COUNTY OF HAWAII /_•- STATE OF HAWAII •RESOLUTION NO. 299 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PUNA MAKAUKAU FOR ITS VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON. WHEREAS, Puna Makaukau is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to assist community associations in forming coalitions to better serve their communities in the event of a disaster through neighborhood preparedness, public outreach, and community workshops; and WHEREAS, Puna Makaukau is partnering with Hawai`i County Citizen Corps to organize a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to recognize volunteers who selflessly offered their time and efforts to individuals and communities affected by the Kilauea eruption; and WHEREAS, Puna Makaukau is requesting funds for food, refreshments, paper products, leis, lapel pins, supplies, and materials for its Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on September 20, 2019; and WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency supports public and private agencies that provide basic and coordinated guidance in post-disaster recovery and restoration in coordination with State and/or Federal disaster assistance programs; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense Agency to provide a grant to Puna Makaukau for its Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
