REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND MASS TRANSIT <br /> DATE: September 3, 2019 Re: Comm.No. 413/Res.No. 259-19 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:03 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo,Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Mass Transit,to which was referred Resolution <br /> No. 259-19,reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 259-19, introduced by Committee Chair Sue Lee Loy and transmitted by Deputy <br /> Corporation Counsel Danny B. Patel via Communication No. 413, dated August 13, 2019, <br /> accepts the dedication of Roadway Lot 14-C (Manawalea Street), identified as TMK No. <br /> 7-4-021:048, situated at Keahuolu,North Kona, from FHT Kamakana LLC, a Hawaii limited <br /> liability company. <br /> The Council on February 20, 2019,has previously approved Resolution No. 37-19, accepting a <br /> dedication of an adjacent section of Manawalea Street and its intersection with Ka`eka Street <br /> (TMK No. 7-4-021:044). <br /> Chair Lee Loy noted that Communication No. 413 included no negative responses from the <br /> Office of the Corporation Counsel,the Department of Environmental Management,the <br /> Department of Public Works,the Department of Water Supply, and the Planning Department. <br /> Committee Member Karen Eoff urged her colleagues' support for the resolution. She described <br /> the location as being near the affordable apartments off Ane Keohokalole Highway, near <br /> Kealakehe High School. She added, this road will connect Manawalea Street to Department of <br /> Hawaiian Home Lands parcels and then will curve and go up to the Kealakehe complex, and it's <br /> an important segment.
