:�svosp�' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII t.: STATE OF HAWAII <br /> OF•M..- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 292 1.9 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BIG ISLAND <br /> MEDIATION,INC., TO CONDUCT ADDITIONAL MEDIATION TRAINING <br /> COURSES. <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Mediation, Inc., doing business as West Hawai`i Mediation <br /> Center, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower individuals, <br /> organizations, and communities to deal with conflict by providing mediation, facilitation, and <br /> education services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Mediation, Inc., would like to conduct additional mediation <br /> training courses that provide dispute resolution services and the facilitation skills needed to <br /> mitigate current and future conflicts within the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Mediation, Inc., has requested financial assistance to defray the <br /> costs for extra supplies and training materials necessary to conduct additional mediation training <br /> courses and outreach services at West Hawai`i Mediation Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports the services provided by <br /> Big Island Mediation, Inc., as it falls within its program goals and objectives for domestic and <br /> family violence prevention and intervention initiatives; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Big Island Mediation, Inc., to conduct additional <br /> mediation training courses. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
