-'MtY os k,' COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 308 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY ENTERPRISES FOR ITS WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY FORUMS. WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created in 2005 to provide educational resources through community forums for West Hawai`i residents to better participate in public policy issues that affect their lives and communities; and WHEREAS, the community forums provide valuable information pertaining to matters important to the public, by inviting guest speakers to share their perspectives on each meeting theme with public question and answer sessions; and WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is requesting funds to pay for advertisements, refreshments, and other related expenses necessary to conduct its community forums in West Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this type of community outreach that facilitates partnerships to promote economic growth and to address the needs and concerns of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Community Enterprises to assist with various expense related with conducting its community forums in West Hawai`i. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
