-tY os N <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 'ITE'OF -- <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 320 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF <br /> KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC., FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES <br /> INCURRED AT THE 37TH ANNUAL HAWAII KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service projects and <br /> activities to address the needs in the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Elderly Activities Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation <br /> coordinates and assists with the production of the Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival, which is a hula <br /> competition that highlights some of the most talented and experienced dancers over the age of 55 <br /> from Hawai`i and all over the world; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., is working with the <br /> Department of Parks and Recreation to coordinate the 37th Annual Hawai`i Kupuna Hula <br /> Festival, which was held on September 11-12, 2019 at the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., is requesting <br /> reimbursement of funds to assist with ballroom fees and awards associated with the 37th Annual <br /> Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival; and <br /> WHEREAS, the annual Kupuna Hula Festival falls within the Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation's Culture and Education program to promote, perpetuate, and encourage activities <br /> and programs in culture, art, history, and humanities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation; Inc., <br /> to support expenses related to the 37th Annual Hawai`i Kupuna Hula Festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
