TE•CF•N►.� RESOLUTION NO. 344 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAMAKUA HARVEST, INC., TO PURCHASE A TENT FOR ITS WEEKLY FARMERS' MARKET. WHEREAS, Hamakua Harvest, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions a thriving and resilient Hamakua community where the rich agricultural heritage is honored and cultivated into a collaborative and sustainable future; and WHEREAS, Hamakua Harvest's weekly Farmers' Market is a site for enhanced social capital, providing a place for resident community members and visitors to access fresh, local produce and value-added goods in a safe, accessible location with no entry fee; and WHEREAS, Hamakua Harvest, Inc., is requesting funds to purchase a tent for its weekly Farmers' Market; and WHEREAS, assisting Hamakua Harvest, Inc., falls within the Department of Research and Development's scope to facilitate with both public and private sectors to promote and support the development, expansion, and sustainability of the agriculture industry; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Hamakua Harvest, Inc., to purchase a tent for its weekly Farmers' Market. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
