r. ,-----..;•`117,-$7'I,w <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII *(A '''' %r=*- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �Tt Oi Ni'�•' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 366 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE AUTISM <br /> SOCIETY OF HAWAII FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL SURFERS HEALING HAWAII <br /> SURF CAMP AT RICHARDSON OCEAN PARK. <br /> WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> serves children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and works to develop opportunities for <br /> all those affected to reach their highest potential; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Surfers Healing Hawai`i Island Chapter provides autistic and disabled <br /> children and their families with the unique experience of surfing with professionals under <br /> supervised conditions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is partnering with The Autism <br /> Society of Hawai`i and the Surfers Healing Hawaii Island Chapter to host the 11th Annual Surfers <br /> Healing Hawai`i surf camp for children with autism and other disabilities on November 30, 2019, <br /> from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Richardson Ocean Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, an estimated 300 people, including 100 keiki, are expected to participate in <br /> this free surf camp; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i is requesting funding assistance to purchase <br /> T-shirts, food, medals, and trophies for the 11th Annual Surfers Healing Hawai`i surf camp; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to The Autism Society of Hawai`i for the 11th Annual <br /> Surfers Healing Hawai`i surf camp at Richardson Ocean Park. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
