--NZY OF Nt'• <br /> ...,.. <br /> „,,,,,., .. <br /> --- <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ; 4\�' ;':W_•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •,..of H.'.-. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 367 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE AUTISM <br /> SOCIETY OF HAWAII FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL SURFERS HEALING HAWAII <br /> EVENT AT RICHARDSON OCEAN PARK. <br /> WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> serves individuals and families touched by autism, also known as autism spectrum disorder; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Surfers Healing Hawai`i event is a free, day-long surf camp for children <br /> with autism and other disabilities, and their families, that offers a natural and therapeutic <br /> experience utilizing the weightlessness and rhythm of the ocean; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 11th Annual Surfers Healing Hawai`i event will be held on November 30, <br /> 2019, at Richardson Ocean Park and is made possible through partnerships with Surfers Healing <br /> Hawaii Island Chapter, Department of Parks and Recreation, The Autism Society of Hawai`i, <br /> Eddie Aikau Foundation, Vans International, Double Good, and countless surfers and volunteers; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i is seeking funds to assist with various <br /> expenses to host the 11th Annual Surfers Healing Hawai`i event, such as refreshments, trophies, <br /> and medals; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to The Autism Society of Hawai`i for the 11th Annual <br /> Surfers Healing Hawai`i event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
