(---‘11,5T h; , <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII + 4\-' /_• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 368 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE AUTISM SOCIETY <br /> OF HAWAII TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 11TH ANNUAL <br /> SURFERS HEALING HAWAII EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> works to improve the lives of persons affected by autism; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i will be assisting with the 11th Annual <br /> Surfers Healing Hawai`i event for children with autism and their families at Richardson Ocean <br /> Park on November 30, 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS, Surfers Healing Hawai`i allows children with autism to go surfing on <br /> tandem boards with experienced volunteers and is a free, fun, and supervised activity for the <br /> family; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i is requesting funds for surf gear, life vests, <br /> awards, tents, food, and drinks for the 11th Annual Surfers Healing Hawai`i event; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports facilitating a wide array <br /> of services and opportunities that meet the needs of the Big Island community while maintaining <br /> cultural uniqueness of our rich heritage, diversity, and the aloha spirit; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to The Autism Society of Hawai`i to assist with expenses <br /> relating to the 11th Annual Surfers Healing Hawai`i event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
