'' f/COUNTY OF HAWAII • k - # STATE OF HAWAII OtOF N� RESOLUTION NO. 415 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND UNITED WAY FOR THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVE. WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Island United Way ("HIUW") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite people, organizations, and resources to build a healthier community; and WHEREAS, HIUW currently partners with 38 agencies and 48 community programs, and supports local community organizations with an interest in health and wellness; and WHEREAS, HIUW and partners reached over 75% of Hawai`i Island as a result of its community outreach initiative; and WHEREAS, HIUW is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of materials and supplies for its community outreach initiative; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support organizations and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i Island United Way to assist with expenses for its community outreach initiative. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
