At the 1/7/19 KVDC meeting, the Commission had no specific recommendation on this Variance <br /> exception. <br /> At the 3/5/19 KVDC meeting, the Commission recommended approval. <br /> Sign Variance Request No. D4 <br /> Hawaii County Code Requirements: <br /> Hawaii County Code Section 3-60 -Number of signs. <br /> (a) Only one sign for any business or one sign for any street or vehicular access on which a building <br /> has frontage shall be permitted. <br /> Variance Request: <br /> There are a total of three(3)business signs on Building 4 storefront(Signs 103, 105 & 106), exceeding <br /> the one(1) sign maximum per street front,under HCC Section 3-60(a)by two(2) signs. <br /> Niumalu requests a variance to HCC Section 3-60(a)to permit a total of three(3)business on a single <br /> building 4 frontage. <br /> Justification for Variance Request No.D4 for Signs 103, 105 and 106: <br /> Identification signs along Building 4(Safeway)frontage are setback from 363 feet to 510 feet from <br /> Henry St., thus minimizing the impact of these signs from a public right-of-way.
