The following will provide a <br /> detailed description of the Niumalu Marketplace project, along with descriptions of the proposed signs and <br /> the requested variances from the Sign Code sought by the enclosed Sign Master Plan. The types of signs and <br /> variances described in the following sections below were initially discussed with the Kailua Village Design <br /> Commission("KVDC") on January 9,2019,which resulted in a revised Sign Master Plan submittal that the <br /> KVDC ultimately recommended for approval on March 6,2019. See attached "Exhibit A". <br /> I) Project Description: <br /> Niumalu Marketplace is a new shopping complex planned for an 19.547-acre parcel located at the corner of <br /> Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway and Henry Street within the Kailua-Kona urban core.
