•-",;,ii"--il:";;:.. <br /> .n .„,,yam '. <br /> . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII �''�=, /_* STATE OF HAWAII <br /> Of <br /> art W- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 426 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAII TO SUPPORT ITS KONA PU'UHONUA WELLNESS CENTER PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose main <br /> goal is to lower the recidivism rate for our State through efforts on Hawai`i Island to reintegrate <br /> former offenders into the community and workplace; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i works in collaboration with more than 50 public and <br /> private entities to provide a variety of support services to former offenders, including housing, <br /> case management, and referrals to mental health and/or substance abuse treatment programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is requesting funding assistance to for its support <br /> client program fees, which include shelter accommodations, utilities, program support, case <br /> management, and transportation to court and compliance requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the <br /> criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other <br /> criminal justice agencies and the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i to support its Kona Pu'uhonua <br /> Wellness Center. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
