COUNTY OF HAWAII �'''�=�' '•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • ,rE'OF•M''' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 427 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO YWCA OF HAWAII <br /> ISLAND FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2019 FAMILY <br /> VIOLENCE SUMMIT. <br /> WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is <br /> dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace,justice, freedom, <br /> and dignity for all; and <br /> WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island collaborated with the Family Violence <br /> Interagency Committee of East and West Hawai`i, and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to <br /> host the 2019 Family Violence Summit held on November 15, 2019 in Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2019 Family Violence Summit was focused on supporting victims of <br /> domestic violence, as well as providing key information to help identify and stop domestic and <br /> family violence in our communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island is requesting reimbursement for expenses related <br /> to hosting its event, including paper goods, lei, refreshments and lunches; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family <br /> violence prevention and intervention initiatives by collaborating with other governmental and <br /> private agencies to provide workshops and trainings for our communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to YWCA of Hawai`i Island for reimbursement of <br /> expenses related to host the 2019 Family Violence Summit. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
