MSV Os• .4 •' <br /> -5N <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII " •• �* "-" /=#" STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +f•• <br /> 'N�OF•MH��• . <br /> ITE <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 429 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET, <br /> INC., FOR THE BODACIOUS WOMEN OF PAHOA'S HO'OULU NA KEIKI '0 <br /> HAWAII BACKPACK PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br /> is to end hunger in Hawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is partnering with the Bodacious Women of Pahoa, <br /> an all-volunteer group that helps neighbors and families in need, to provide monthly backpacks <br /> filled with nutritious food during the school year to all 110 students of Kua 0 Ka La Public <br /> Charter School; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Bodacious Women of Pahoa, through its Ho`oulu Na Keiki 'o Hawai`i <br /> Backpack Program, will assist the students of Kua 0 Ka La Public Charter School, where <br /> students and staff have experienced great hardship since the school was consumed by lava from <br /> the Kilauea eruption in July 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., requests funding to pay for food and drawstring <br /> backpacks for the Ho`oulu Na Keiki 'o Hawai`i Backpack Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-fee and alcohol-free <br /> programs that contribute to the health, safety, and welfare of Hawai`i Island community <br /> members; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to The Food Basket, Inc., for the Bodacious Women of <br /> Pahoa's Ho`oulu Na Keiki 'o Hawai`i Backpack Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
