r ,,,,,„ ., <br /> --�tYOs y▪ ,' . <br /> • 1 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII * P�' /_*- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> � ....OF•N►'• � <br /> TE <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 434 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET, <br /> INC., FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE BODACIOUS WOMEN OF PAHOA'S <br /> HO'OULU NA KEIKI '0 HAWAII—KEIKI BACKPACK PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br /> is to end hunger in Hawai`i County with programs that provide food and promote the value of <br /> nutrition and self-sufficiency; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Bodacious Women of Pahoa is an organization serving the Puna district <br /> with food pantries, disaster relief, and community outreach, who will be partnering with The <br /> Food Basket, Inc., to coordinate the Ho`oulu Na Keiki 'o Hawai`i—Keiki Backpack Program; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Ho`oulu Na Keiki 'o Hawai`i—Keiki Backpack Program provides <br /> monthly backpacks full of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food to all 110 students, kindergarten <br /> through eighth grade, at Kua 0 Ka La Public Charter School during the school session; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is requesting funds to cover expenses such as <br /> backpacks and food for the Bodacious Women of Pahoa's Ho`oulu Na Keiki 'o Hawai`i—Keiki <br /> Backpack Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports alcohol-free and drug-free <br /> programs that promote the well-being and health of our community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to The Food Basket, Inc., for the Bodacious Women of <br /> Pahoa's Ho`oulu Na Keiki 'o Hawai`i—Keiki Backpack Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
