STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 435 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ALOHA `ILIO RESCUE TO SUPPORT ITS SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce the rates of euthanasia and overpopulation of sad, neglected, and homeless dogs on the Big Island; and WHEREAS, Aloha Ilio Rescue provides animal adoptions, education programs, foster homes, and outreach on the importance of spaying and neutering pets; and WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue is requesting funds for spaying and neutering, microchips, vaccines, veterinary care, and food to help with its spay and neuter program; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project, which falls within its community-building initiative to collaborate with community-based organizations to balance economic, social, health, and environmental priorities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Aloha `Ilio Rescue for its spay and neuter program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
