-MtYOip4' <br /> .r n ,11I l/y• . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> • �='.�;''r• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • `� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 444 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOMELESS TASK <br /> FORCE FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS HOMELESS OUTREACH INITIATIVE. <br /> WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose <br /> is to provide the homeless community with immediate referrals, resources, and tools to become <br /> stable and self-sufficient members of society through outreach and engagement; and <br /> WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force coordinates outreach efforts into homeless <br /> encampments to engage individuals and offer safe haven options of drug and alcohol detox <br /> programs, reunification with families of origin, and placement into shared and permanent <br /> housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Homeless Task Force is requesting financial assistance to acquire <br /> identification, purchase food, clothing, bus and taxi fare, and personal hygiene items to prepare <br /> those that are homeless for re-entry to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Housing supports homeless outreach initiatives that provide <br /> suitable living environments and expand economic opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing <br /> and Community Development to provide a grant to Homeless Task Force for expenses related to <br /> its homeless outreach initiative. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
