RESOLUTION NO. 449 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WEST HAWAII PARKS AND ATHLETIC CORPORATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2020 SENIOR SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT. WHEREAS, West Hawai`i Parks and Athletic Corporation(WHIPAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to seek funding for the design, planning and construction of the Kealakehe Regional Park, and its mission is to building unity and community through sports; and WHEREAS, WHIPAC is hosting the 2020 Senior Softball Tournament, which will be held January 20 to 23, 2020, at Maka`eo "Old Airport" Park in West Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, WHIPAC is requesting funds to assist with expenses for food, refreshments, portable bathrooms, and printing material related to the 2020 Senior Softball Tournament; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation creates partnerships with other recreation providers and community organizations to maximize service and activities for the public; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to West Hawai`i Parks and Athletics Corporation for expenses related to the 2020 Senior Softball Tournament. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
