oOi... <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • ,tE•OFN!' - <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 450 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WEST HAWAII <br /> PARKS AND ATHLETIC CORPORATION FOR ITS 8TH ANNUAL SENIOR <br /> SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, West Hawai`i Parks and Athletic Corporation (WHIPAC) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to build a united community through sports by <br /> providing the residents of West Hawai`i a recreational facilities and open spaces for social, <br /> educational, sports, and health programs and services; and <br /> WHEREAS, in March 2012, the Senior Softball USA committee officially sanctioned <br /> and helped to established a senior softball tournament for and on Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, WHIPAC is hosting its 8th Annual Senior Softball Tournament, which will <br /> be held January 20 to 23, 2020, at Maka`eo, "Old Airport" Baseball Park in West Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, WHIPAC is requesting funds to assist with food, refreshments, portable <br /> bathrooms, and printing of tournament booklets associated with its Senior Softball Tournament; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation develops partnerships with other <br /> recreation providers and community organizations to maximize service and activities available to <br /> the public; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to West Hawaii Parks and Athletic Corporation for its <br /> 8th Annual Senior Softball Tournament. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
