See attached "Agreement for Special Counsel" <br /> ("Agreement"). <br /> i <br /> ii <br /> On November 3, 2015, Council authorized the hiring of Special Counsel at the <br /> maximum compensation amount of$300,000. See attached t excerpts of the "Minutes <br /> of the November 3, 2015 Council Session." <br /> Section E of the Agreement provides as follows: <br /> That in no event shall the County pay Special Counsel more than a total of <br /> THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($300,000) for <br /> professional legal services rendered to the County, unless this agreement is <br /> amended by the parties hereto, in writing. <br /> See page 5 of the Agreement. <br /> As of January 10, 2020, Special Counsel has invoiced and received a total <br /> payment for their legal services of approximately $298,000.00. <br /> Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Provider <br />
