..,.--,;,0*.si;;,:... <br /> C n ,lll�/1zr <br /> ;:', STATE OF HAWAII <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII • .A r=#OF N.'... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 474 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO REIMBURSE THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS <br /> AND RECREATION FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 2020 WAIMEA CHERRY <br /> BLOSSOM HERITAGE FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, hanami (means "flower viewing"), also known as the cherry blossom <br /> festival, is a Japanese tradition over a thousand years old that celebrates the season's first <br /> blooms; and <br /> WHEREAS, the annual Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival is a trademark <br /> festival for the community of Waimea, with multi-cultural performing arts, hands-on bonsai and <br /> origami demonstrations, and various food and craft booths throughout the day; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Education Division, <br /> continues to host the largely attended, annual Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival and has <br /> incurred expenses for traffic control and the production of this year's souvenir booklet that was <br /> distributed throughout the festival on February 1, 2020; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has requested a reimbursement for <br /> expenses associated with traffic control and the production of this year's souvenir booklet; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation as a reimbursement for expenses associated with the 2020 Waimea Cherry <br /> Blossom Heritage Festival souvenir booklet. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
