JMtYOsN,' COUNTY OF HAWAI `I •� �''�-� !_*�- STATE OF HAWAII :__�,,,,:,�. : • TE Oi • RESOLUTION NO. 477 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO '0 KA`U KAKOU FOR ITS VULCAN BASEBALL CLINIC AT NA'ALEHU PARK. WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou (OKK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and promote a healthy community through education and economic development opportunities that improve the quality of life for the people of Ka`u; and WHEREAS, OKK is hosting its Vulcan Baseball Clinic, which will provide instruction in the basic fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and fielding for youth in the community and will be held on April 18, 2020, at Na`alehu Park; and WHEREAS, OKK is requesting funds to assist with transportation, food, drinks, and other costs directly related to this event; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation develops partnerships with other recreation providers and community organizations to maximize service and activities available to the public; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to '0 Ka`u Kakou for its Vulcan Baseball Clinic at Na`alehu Park. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
