••oJ♦ZY OF k� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ,TE•OF•MF•� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 478 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BIG ISLAND WAVE <br /> RIDERS AGAINST DRUGS TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE <br /> WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP. <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that promotes education and community awareness on the importance of a clean <br /> environment through participation in community projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is cosponsoring the West Hawai`i <br /> Community Beach Cleanup with numerous organizations and community groups; and <br /> WHEREAS, the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup is scheduled for March 7, <br /> 2020, and will include County and State beaches stretching over 60 miles of coastline from <br /> Puako to Miloli`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is requesting funds to purchase <br /> trash bags, gloves, food, and drinks for the volunteers of this event; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support alcohol- <br /> and drug-free events that provide a safe and healthy environment for learning; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs to assist with <br /> expenses associated with the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
