- 51 OF. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIIf-ff '5=:A • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ,..r,TEOF NF'.r <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 479 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> WAVE RIDERS AGAINST DRUGS FOR THE WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH <br /> CLEANUP. <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that cosponsors the Big Island Community Beach Cleanup with the County of <br /> Hawaii and other community organizations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs promotes unity through drug- <br /> free group participation, as well as community awareness on the importance of keeping our <br /> beaches clean; and <br /> WHEREAS, the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup event is scheduled for <br /> March 7, 2020, and the community will be cleaning all County and State beaches between <br /> Puako and Miloli`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs has requested funds for trash <br /> bags, gloves, lunch, and goodie bags for all volunteers of the West Hawai`i Community Beach <br /> Cleanup; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free events and activities, <br /> such as this beach cleanup initiative, that encourages our youth to get involved in the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs to assist with <br /> expenses related to the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
