---�tY Os M,'• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII f•f.i\-4-5Y, #- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> [Oi M. <br /> •.,.........-- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 491 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KAT <br /> MULTICULTURAL SOCIETY FOR ITS 10TH ANNUAL KA`U PLANTATION DAYS <br /> CELEBRATION. <br /> WHEREAS, Ka`u Multicultural Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br /> mission is to educate, provide, perpetuate, and preserve the history of Ka`u through pictures, <br /> stories, legends, language, arts and crafts, and genealogy of all ethnic groups; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ka`u Multicultural Society and community partners will be celebrating its <br /> 10th Annual Ka`u Plantation Days on March 14, 2020, at Na`alehu Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ka`u Plantation Days Celebration will be featuring musicians, hula, arts, <br /> crafts, food, demonstrations, workshops, and a wide display of artifacts, stories, and pictures to <br /> showcase and commemorate sugar plantations in Ka`u; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ka`u Multicultural Society is requesting funds for advertising, permits, <br /> posters, flyers, food, refreshments, and miscellaneous supplies for its 10th Annual Ka`u <br /> Plantation Days Celebration; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports this event as it is in keeping <br /> with its goals and objectives to promote a safe and health community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Ka`u Multicultural Society for its 10th Annual Kali <br /> Plantation Days Celebration. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
