COUNTY OF HAWAII •� / STATE OF HAWAII <br /> .., 1tEOF•N'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 493 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO RECYCLE HAWAII <br /> FOR EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH EFFORTS. <br /> WHEREAS, Recycle Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br /> reduce solid waste through education and innovative reuse programs on Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, Recycle Hawai`i's long-term vision is that Hawai`i Island minimizes waste <br /> in the future by understanding and practicing resource management instead of waste generation <br /> and disposal; and <br /> WHEREAS, Recycle Hawai`i will be hosting a series of community meetings aimed at <br /> soliciting feedback and creative solutions to help address Hawai`i Island recycling efforts; and <br /> WHEREAS, Recycle Hawai`i has requested funds for its educational outreach meetings <br /> being held island-wide, to offset costs for promotions, supplies, transcription and editing fees, <br /> analysis and report fees, and refreshments during the meetings; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> and youth programs through education and activities which promote a drug- and alcohol-free <br /> environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Recycle Hawai`i to support its educational outreach <br /> meetings being held island-wide. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
