..OJ�tY OF p' '' <br /> •� �'''=��''•'�_# STATE OF HAWAII <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ; . <br /> '• rrEOF MPS•' _ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 503 20 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO <br /> ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT <br /> OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE <br /> FISCAL YEAR WITH ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development wishes to enter <br /> into a multi-year agreement with Arizona State University (ASU); and <br /> WHEREAS, the agreement is for ASU to aid the County in its intervention <br /> of Public Utilities Commission (PUC) dockets, including Integrated Grid Planning, <br /> Electrification of Transportation, Performance-Based Regulation, and rate case; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, <br /> lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a <br /> later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br /> federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br /> powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year <br /> agreement for the services as described above, for the Department of <br /> Research & Development. <br />
