COUNTY OF HAWAII . .",v‘�'''/i• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 518 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE EAST HAWAII <br /> CULTURAL COUNCIL FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES ASSOCIATED <br /> WITH THE 2020 LIVE ALOHA FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, the East Hawai`i Cultural Council ("EHCC") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> community organization that is dedicated to providing a cultural and educational venue for the <br /> greater community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the EHCC encourages and supports expression of cultural diversity defined <br /> through exhibition, performance, workshops, and creative inquiry; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2020 Live Aloha Festival, held January 6-12, 2020, featured an <br /> innovative venue designed to feature live music, theater, film, puppets, visual arts, and <br /> conversations about community and art; and <br /> WHEREAS, the EHCC is requesting reimbursement for expenses relating to the <br /> development, production, and implementation of the 2020 Live Aloha Festival, including but not <br /> limited to supplies, printing, refreshments, and other items necessary for the project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports events and activities that <br /> celebrate and commemorate significant cultural contributions in a clean and safe environment; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the East Hawai`i Cultural Council for reimbursement <br /> of expenses associated with the 2020 Live Aloha Festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council hereby transfers/appropriates <br /> the following amount as set forth below: <br />
