,--MtY 0i N,'• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 519 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO '0 KA`U KAKOU FOR <br /> ITS 6TH ANNUAL PRINCE KUHIO DAY HO`OLAULE`A. <br /> WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou (OKK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that sponsors <br /> and supports community activities in the district of Ka`u that enhance the quality of life for keiki, <br /> kupuna, and businesses; and <br /> WHEREAS, OKK along with Hana Laulima 0 Ka`u is coordinating the 6th Annual <br /> Prince Kuhio Day Ho`olaule`a, which will be held March 28, 2020, at Na`alehu Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Ho`olaule`a is free, open to the public, and will include live music, hula <br /> performances, Hawaiian arts, crafts, games, workshops, demonstrations, canoe exhibition, and <br /> historical presentation in honor of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana`ole; and <br /> WHEREAS, OKK is requesting funding assistance with food, advertising, special-duty <br /> officers, sound system, materials, and miscellaneous supplies related to the Holaule`a; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports this event as it aligns with <br /> its goals and objectives to promote safe and health community activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to '0 Ka`u Kakou for its 6th Annual Prince Kuhio Day <br /> Ho`olaule`a. <br />
