COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII 1rF Of•N�.tI RESOLUTION NO. 535 20 i A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT I AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII LGBT LEGACY FOUNDATION FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE HAWAII ISLAND LGBTQ PRIDE FESTIVAL. WHEREAS, the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to create events and provide resources for the LGBTQ community and to encourage participation from allies in the community; and a WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride Festival, a project of the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation, will be held on June 27, 2020, in Downtown Hilo and will feature entertainment, informational and retail booths, and keiki activities; and WHEREAS,the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation is requesting funds to cover expenses for the keiki activity area and rental of port-a-potties for the 2020 Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride Festival; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation facilitates services and opportunities that meet the needs of the Big Island community while maintaining cultural uniqueness of our heritage, diversity, and aloha spirit; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreations to provide a grant to the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation for the Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride Festival. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
