The donation of the tourniquets will be used for the training of Police Recruits and Sworn Personnel. The <br /> donated tourniquets will also be issued to Police Officers after the completion of the Active Shooter/Tactical <br /> Medical training. Tourniquets have been proven to save the lives of victims and officers in active shooter or <br /> emergency situations. The Police Department has adopted the ALERRT AIRR active shooter training, which <br /> is a coordinated response with Fire and Medical personnel to quickly stop an active shooter situation and <br /> save the lives of the victims.
