oJNtY OR M,�Y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAPI STATE OF HAWAII <br /> + 4w MOM i•�•. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 554 ZO <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEALAKEHE <br /> PROJECT GRAD FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 2020 KEALAKEHE PROJECT <br /> GRAD EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of <br /> parent, student, and community volunteers who work toward providing a safe location for <br /> graduates of Kealakehe High School to celebrate with their friends and enjoy an all-night <br /> alcohol-,tobacco-, and drug-free event; and <br /> WHEREAS, the goal of Kealakehe Project Grad is to provide healthy and fun activities <br /> that will ensure the safety and well-being of the graduating class of Kealakehe High School; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2020 Kealakehe Project Grad event will take place May 23-24, 2020, <br /> from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium, the Kona Community Aquatic <br /> Center, and the KBXtreme Family Entertainment Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad is requesting funds to help pay for meals, various <br /> combinations of entertainment such as live band or DJ, dancing, bowling, swimming, gym <br /> activities, rock wall climbing, karaoke, arcade games, and other activities determined by the <br /> graduating class; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> improve the lives of young people through supervised alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-free <br /> recreational activities intended to promote growth and learning in a safe environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kealakehe Project Grad to assist with expenses related to its <br /> 2020 Kealakehe Project Grad event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
