"oJMtV OF y,' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI I • --,'4:* STATE OF HAWAII <br /> j••,Nw <br /> • 'tE OF•HI,�_ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 566 2 0 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $2,000 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE <br /> DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Evans Ohana is donating $2,000 to the Hawaii County Police <br /> Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase tourniquets to be assigned <br /> to Police Officers for use in the field as part of life-saving measures; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> Resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that <br /> cash donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal <br /> Resolution process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the <br /> County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
