--'MtY oP............ <br /> • ' -^ \,I dig;. •'• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •{ ;`==��'�/_*- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �rE•oF• ra+ _ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 577 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF <br /> KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION INC., FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS <br /> COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS,the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that was created in 2008 to support local communities; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Konawaena High School Leo Club (a youth branch of the Lions Club of <br /> Kona), is in partnership with the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District(KSWCD)to <br /> conduct its community outreach project, which includes community planting and public <br /> education on land degradation and soil depletion in the Kona district; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., is requesting funds <br /> for expenses to develop educational materials and to purchase supplies for community planting; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development strives to increase <br /> communication, interaction, and understanding between residents and the agriculture industry to <br /> ensure the integrity of Hawai`i's unique sense of place; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> ` <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community <br /> Foundation, Inc., to assist with expenses for its community outreach project; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
